Print guideline

File type

Format

Please follow the information and steps required for material submission precisely to ensure a smooth workflow!

Important: everything (e.g. fonts, images, color profiles) should be embedded in the final PDF!

If you don't know how to export your material as described below, send everything in one package (images, font, etc.)

ACCEPTED FORMAT

We accept PDF format for almost all printable files

UNACCEPTED FORMAT

We do not accept: JPG, PNG, AI, PSD, TIFF, or any other format

FILE NAME

NAME_submitted material name_type.pdf without accents and with underscores e.g. SAMPLE_PETER_planets_sticker.pdf

Printing standard: Export PDF in PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 standard

PDF/X-1a: closed format – all fonts are embedded, only CMYK or spot colors (Pantone), no transparency or layers (flatten), stable, traditional printing format

PDF/X-4: supports transparencies, layers, embedded fonts, also handles ICC color profiles, so more accurate color management is possible, can include CMYK + RGB + spot colors

Color mode

Color profile

We accept CMYK and RGB color profiles, CMYK is the standard

Embedding a color profile : important because for correct color management (e.g. CMYK → printing colors), the printing house's software needs to know in which color space the image or graphic was created.

COLORS

Spot colors: the color names should be in the following format: e.g. Pantone 133 C

Neon colors: we can select the part to be printed with neon colors (yellow, pink, orange, green) separately, or automatically

Pictures

Format type

Embedding images : images must be in the material, not linked (because if they are linked, the PDF would be "empty" without images).

ACCEPTED FORMAT

We accept TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PDF formats

UNACCEPTED FORMAT

We do not accept: WEBP

Crop mark, bleed

Crop marks, registration marks and color control lines are NOT necessary. There should be a bleed and instead of crop marks, it is worth using CutContour .

OUTLET

Bleed: minimum 2 mm (=5.6693 pt)

CUTCONTOUR

For contour cutting, the name of the cut line should be exactly CutContour (case sensitive). The cut line should be created with the overprint stroke setting.

To create the contour cut, use the add new swatch named CutContour.

Letter

Type of letters

Embedding fonts : the font must be embedded or curved (treated as an object). Embedding is possible with PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 export.

It is possible to create a vector curve by converting letters to outlines, but the text can no longer be edited.

If the font is not embedded, a different font may appear on your computer → there may be breakage or misalignment.

FONT SIZE

Minimum font size: 10pt
