Canva material submission

Canva

Canva is a popular online graphic design platform that allows anyone to easily create stunning documents, presentations, and digital assets. While we generally recommend that our clients use a professional graphic designer, we know that in many cases this tool can be a practical and quick solution – especially when internal graphic resources are limited.

Canva allows you to create visually appealing, eye-catching materials even without design experience. However, if you’re aiming for a professional-quality print-optimized result, there are a few basic settings and tips you should follow to get the best possible results when printing.

Steps:

  1. Select the PDF menu item to print!
  2. Check the crop marks and bleed line!
  3. Select the page to print!
  4. Finally, in the color profile, choose RGB or CMYK type profile!

STAGE

Graphics for print can be created in both CMYK and RGB color spaces, as our printers can handle both color profiles. Canva uses RGB colors by default, which are optimized for digital display. If you have a Canva Pro subscription, you can export CMYK, which provides more accurate color reproduction for printed materials.

IMAGE QUALITY

Always use high-quality, high-resolution images for printing. Low-resolution photos can appear pixelated or blurry during the printing process, which can affect the appearance of the finished product. For best results, it is recommended to set the resolution of your images to at least 300 DPI.

ADVANTAGES OF VECTOR GRAPHICS

Use vector graphics whenever possible. Vector graphics can be scaled without loss of quality, so your print will remain sharp and clear at any size.

OUTLET

The bleed area ensures that there are no thin white edges left on the finished product when cutting. This means that the background color or images should be slightly extended beyond the final cut size. A general recommendation is to allow at least 2-3 mm of overlap on all sides of the graphic.

SAFETY MARGIN

When cropping, avoid cutting important elements (such as text or logos) too close to the edges of the page. It is advisable to leave a safety zone inside the edges to avoid partial or complete clipping of the content.

TEXT

Readability is especially important for printed materials. Choose clean, easy-to-read fonts, avoid styles that are too ornate, thin, or difficult to read. Make sure there is adequate contrast between the text and the background.
